Energy Efficiency

 

Efficient energy use is commonly known as ‘Energy Efficiency’, this is the process of using less energy to provide the same level of performance. For example, insulating a roller shutter door enables a building to use less heating and cooling energy to achieve and maintain a comfortable temperature. IRSP’s range of insulated roller shutter products utilises the highest levels of insulation features, this includes Ecotech technology. Ecotech technology significantly improves the insulation inward and outwards maintaining constant energy with the building environment.

 

Energy Conversion Efficiency is the ratio between the useful output of an energy conversion device (e.g. electric motor) and the electrical input required to operate the motor, (in energy terms). The useful output may be mechanical work, delivered by an electric motor and a transmission system. IRSP has worked with it suppliers to develop energy efficient motors that comply to the very latest European energy requirements, delivering economy with reliability.

 

Energy Efficiency in roller shutter terms is to reduce the amount of energy used for a given mechanical operation (opening and closing) or for maintaining a constant temperature within in a building in order to deliver the same level of end use performance. IRSP’s Energy Efficiency improvements have been achieved through developing a range of technologically advanced roller shutter products that meet or exceed current international standards.

 

New European regulations have been published that cover all aspects of roller shutter energy use, from the manufacturing process, to the operational efficiency of the roller shutters.
